Where it started
A conviction about Roman food.
Sampietrino was born with a single conviction: that the finest Roman ingredients deserved to travel. The aged guanciale from Amatrice. The Pecorino Romano DOP from the Lazio hills. The pasta trafilata al bronzo from a historic Roman pastificio. Things made slowly, by families, with no shortcuts — and almost impossible to find, intact and uncompromised, anywhere in Northern Europe.
We wanted to bring them to Dutch kitchens. Not as curiosities, not as souvenirs, but as what they actually are: the foundation of one of the world's oldest culinary traditions.
That was the beginning. But the most beautiful stories evolve when two worlds meet.
